TextWord Setup Guide
1.Log in to Your Account
Access the platform and log in with your credentials.
2. Navigate to the Grow Section
Select TextWords > Create New TextWord.
3. Enter Your Desired Keyword
Input your desired keyword (e.g., "espresso"). Ensure it is available by checking the system prompt. If the keyword is taken, you’ll need to choose a different one
4. Select the Phone Number to Assign
Choose whether to tie this keyword to your 10-digit toll-free number or a short code number.
- Short Code Number: Ideal for easy-to-remember numbers, often used for lead capture at events.
- Toll-Free Number: More commonly used for interaction with your existing customers and providing a more customized experience. More interactivity.

5. Add Tags
Used track and target them with future campaigns.
6. Fill out the required "Send compliance message"
Inform customers about how many times per month or week they will be receiving texts from you. Check off the box to only send message once per subscriber. If the subscriber has already received a compliance message, it will not be sent again when they text this code or scan the QR code.
7. Optional Age Gate Verification Section - useful for alcohol brands
Require a minimum age for users to receive your texts. The instructions "Reply with your birthdate in the MM/DD/YYYY format." will be added automatically to the end of your message.
8. Send Auto Text Message
Set up what happens when someone texts your keyword: Craft an automatic response that users receive upon texting the keyword (e.g., “Thank you for joining our espresso program!”).
9. Trigger Message Flow
Enroll the new subscriber in message flows, like a Welcome Flow if you've already created this in the Automation > Message flow section. This can be done in the Message Flow Section. In the message flow, add one of your start triggers as the new TextWord you've just created. You can find your TextWords under the "inbound TextWord" option in the dropdown.
10. Promote Your Text Word
Use your marketing campaigns to inform your audience about the new text word. For example, you might send a message like “Text ‘espresso’ to [your toll-free number] to join our exclusive espresso offers!”

5. Send a welcome text
Add an initial automation action of sending a text thanking the subscriber for joining your program and what to expect.
6. Capture more customer data
Add Automation action to capture names, email addresses & Send reminder texts when subscriber hasn't responded.
7. Ask new subscribers to join your text list
- Opt in method decision
- Double opt in (Requires confirmation by subscriber)
- Single opt in (Instantly add subscriber without confirmation)
- Fill out the required "Send compliance message"
- Inform customers about how many times per month or week they will be receiving texts from you
- Check off the box to only send message once per subscriber. If the subscriber has already received a compliance message, it will not be sent again.
- Send Auto Text message when someone completes opt-in process or send them a welcome or message flow.
